Nutrient-Dense Keto Muffins for Weight Loss (Also Great as a Snack)
The secret to weight loss isn’t actually a secret. Answers have been present in scientific literature for decades. The formula for weight loss can be simplified in two general components; incorporate exercise to burn more calories and lessen your food intake. Now this isn’t a weight loss article; it’s a delicious recipe that we can almost guarantee will aid your weight loss goals.
Low in Calories But Not in Flavor
You may be wondering, “How can a recipe help me lose weight?” Simple. One of the components mentioned earlier is to lessen food intake. These nutrient-dense muffins are significantly lower in calories when compared to traditionally made muffins. Many have found success in following a ketogenic diet for weight loss and these muffins are 100% keto-approved. Additionally, these muffins contain no refined white flour or any added sugar so they’re grain-free, sugar-free and gluten-free.
We also mentioned that these keto muffins are packed with nutrients. A diet filled with essential nutrients will also significantly boost weight loss because it speeds up the metabolism and helps with keeping you satiated which in turn will reduce cravings and total calories consumed daily.
This recipe makes use of almond flour and flaxseed meal. These two ingredients are both high in fiber, high in healthy fats, and are also scored low on the glycemic index scale which will help manage blood sugar levels. The nutrients found in these two ingredients all play a significant role in speeding up fat loss. (1) Furthermore, the texture of the almond flour and flaxseed meal is identical to regular flour so baking with them is not an issue.
In order for your keto muffins to come out perfectly, it’s important to follow the directions in this recipe carefully. The first step is to combine the dry ingredients in a bowl. A lot of recipes fail because people forget this step. So once you mix the almond flour, flaxseed meal, cinnamon and baking powder, you just need to combine them until smooth.
Add dried cranberries and grated apple to the batter. The apple and dried cranberries will give your muffins added texture with each bite. The last step to making the batter is to finally add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix.
Using a ladle, distribute the batter evenly in a muffin pan lined with 12 muffin liners. This is the secret to even muffins. Personally, I don’t trust eyeballing my portions so if you’re new to baking, use something to measure your portions, too.
Once finished, take your muffins out of the oven and insert a toothpick in the center of one of your muffins and see if it comes out without raw batter. If the toothpick comes out clean, the muffins are finished. Allow them to completely cool down before serving. Muffins that will not be consumed right away should be stored in the refrigerator.
These delicious keto muffins are packed with nutrients and are the perfect snack for those trying to lose weight and fat. It’s a very easy to follow recipe and can be done in as little as 30 minutes. Not only are they healthy, but these nutrients-dense keto muffins taste absolutely fantastic.
