Oh So Good Keto Tiramisu in a Jar (try this recipe!)
Tiramisu cake has always been a highly requested recipe among my family, which is why this OMG-good keto tiramisu in a jar is such a big hit whenever I make it. You’ll be making your own keto approved ladyfingers completely from scratch, along with a homemade mascarpone cream and coffee drizzle as well.
How to Make Keto Tiramisu in a Jar
As far as keto “in a jar” recipes go, this just might be my new favorite homemade treat to make:
- Preheat the oven. Preheat your oven to 350℉.
- Prepare the baking sheet. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the dry ladyfinger ingredients. Add the almond flour, coconut flour, and baking powder to a bowl and mix to combine.
- Cream. Use a separate bowl to cream the butter together with a low carb granulated sweetener like Stevia.
- Add the egg. Add one egg to the butter and sweetener mixture and beat well.
- Add the dry ingredients. Add the almond flour mixture and beat to combine.
- Prepare for baking. Transfer the mixture to a pastry bag and pipe it out onto your prepared baking sheet.
- Bake. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 8-12 minutes or until golden.
- Cool. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
- Prepare the mascarpone cream. Add the heavy cream, mascarpone cheese, and a low carb granulated sweetener to a bowl and beat until the mixture is firm.
- Prepare the coffee drizzle. Add your choice of either 2 espresso shots or ⅓ cup of freshly brewed coffee, a low carb granulated sweetener, and the rum extract to a shallow bowl and mix to combine.
- Soak. Soak the ladyfingers in the completed coffee drizzle.
- Layer. Using jars, layer the soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone cream.
- Dust. Dust the top of the tiramisu with cacao powder.
- Refrigerate. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
2 Useful Tips for Making the Best Tiramisu
For best results when making this recipe, here are a few quick tips that you can keep in mind:
- Patience is a virtue. Your tiramisu will turn out much better if you give it plenty of time in the fridge before you serve it. You should be aiming to refrigerate it for a minimum of at least 6 hours.
- Don’t skimp on the mascarpone. A lot of people think they can just use another type of cheese (like cream cheese) instead of mascarpone when they’re making homemade tiramisu. Don’t make that mistake. You want to stick with mascarpone cheese if you’re making this recipe.
- Use good quality coffee. In fact, use your favorite coffee with this recipe. Ideally, you’ll want espresso shots or any coffee that isn’t sweet at all.
How to Store Keto Tiramisu in a Jar
Aside from keeping your tiramisu stored in the jar that you prepare it in, you’re definitely going to want to keep the jar stored in the fridge until you’re ready to enjoy it.
Alternatively, as long as you’re using a freezer-safe jar, you can also keep your tiramisu stored in the freezer if you want to extend its shelf life for even longer.
How Long Does Tiramisu Last?
When stored in the fridge, your tiramisu in a jar will keep for up to 4 days before it begins to spoil.
On the other hand, if you decide to freeze your tiramisu instead, it will keep for up to 3 months.
