Ingredients

For the burgers: 

1 pound ground beef (80/20 chuck is best)

¾ tsp salt 

¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

½ teaspoon garlic powder

For the toppings:

4 slices raw bacon

1 small red onion, cut into ¼ thick slices 

4 slices Cheddar cheese

¼ cup mayonnaise

¼ cup sliced pickles 

lettuce leaves

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. 
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. 
  3. Add the ground beef, salt, black pepper and garlic powder to a bowl and mix to combine. 
  4. Form into 4 patties and place on the prepared baking sheet. 
  5. Place the bacon and onion slices on the same baking sheet.
  6. Bake in preheated oven for 18 minutes. 
  7. Remove the baking sheet from the oven, top the burgers with cheese and return to the oven. 
  8. Bake for 1 or 2 more minutes. 
  9. To serve, dollop the mayonnaise onto lettuce leaves and top with onion slice, patty, bacon and sliced pickles.  Serve immediately.
